    Ema explores the process and physicality of painting, with the aim to show its materiality in each piece of her work. There are no pre-conceived plans or processes that she intends to explore with regards to achieving the end aesthetic. Her paintings go beyond just simply reading the picture plane in a visual sense – she invites the viewer to question the physical gestation of each piece.
